Using your PRESS card.
What the card is, what it is not, and the rules that keep it trusted.
What the card is
Your PRESS card identifies you as a member of our newsroom. Anyone can check it at once by scanning its QR code or entering the card number on our verification page; the result shows whether it is valid, expired or withdrawn.
What it is not
It is not government accreditation, and it gives you no special legal rights. Government press accreditation is issued separately by the authorities.
Rules
- Use it only for genuine reporting work for us.
- Never use it to get favours, free services, entry where you have no reason to be, or to pressure anyone.
- Show it politely when asked, together with a government photo ID if needed.
- Do not lend it, copy it or change it.
Lost, expired or leaving
- Lost card: tell the desk at once. We issue a new QR code so the lost card stops verifying.
- Expiry: the date is printed on the card. Renew from your portal before it runs out.
- When your membership ends, the card must be returned and it shows as withdrawn on the verification page.
Misuse of the card breaks our Code of Conduct and leads to suspension or withdrawal.
